WORKSHOPS 2010
SATURDAY YOGA SPECIALS
The sessions will cover specific groupings of asana focusing on alignment, proper movement, and action. Inversions, use and purpose of props, how to modify positions for maximum benefit, AND PRANAYAMA will be part of each session. The sessions are designed for experienced students and teachers who would like to refine their practice and deepen their appreciation and understanding of yoga. Session I - Standing poses
Gail Malizia, MA Psychology, age 70, has been on the path to yoga for over thirty years. For most of that time, she taught in Seattle and on Whidbey Island establishing herself as a reputable, knowledgeable teacher. She now lives part time in Mexico, part time in the NW giving private lessons and workshops. Her teaching has evolved over the years, as has her practice, from the outer form of the asana to inner, more refined movements and subtleties. She is noted for her ability to adapt asanas to the individual, effective adjustments, humor, and earthy wisdom. The course is limited to 15 people. Students should have basic understanding of the asanas, some experience with inversions and pranayama. These sessions are not suitable for people in acute pain or those recovering from recent injury. Cost for all THREE Saturdays is $85 or $30 for a single session only if space is available.
Cancellations received prior to September 18 will be refunded minus a $25 service fee. Cancellations received after September 18 will be refunded (minus the $25 service fee) only if your space can be filled.
